The RSM Honours programme focuses on:

'Trends and opportunities in tech-based industries: Entrepreneurship, innovation and industrial clusters'.


The RSM Honours programme provides students with a broad understanding of the trends and opportunities in technology-based industries and their impact on the global economy and society. To accomplish this, the programme applies in-depth knowledge and analytical perspectives from the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate growth and industrial clusters. 


The programme is open to a limited number of second-year Bachelor students, from both the International Business Administration (IBA) and Bedrijfskunde programmes and is taught entirely in English. 


The Honours programme is extracurricular and attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Upon successful completion, students are rewarded with 15 extra-curricular credits.


Preliminary schedule of the 2026-2027 programme

The Honours programme starts in early November 2026 and runs until June 2027. The preliminary programme includes:

  • Approximately 12 plenary lectures, typically held on Thursday afternoons on campus (schedule is still subject to change).
  • Three two-day off-campus challenges involving company research and consultancy projects in the Netherlands (locations to be confirmed): 
    • Westland Horticultural Centre
    • RDM Dock campus in Rotterdam’s Harbour
    • National Jenever/Gin Museum, Schiedam 
  • A five-and-a-half-day study trip to the University of Oulu, Finland during the self-study week from: 5-9 April 2027. Outbound travel is scheduled for Sunday, 4 April 2027.


In addition to individual assignments, students will work on a team-based project: 'Foresight and opportunities in space', conducted in close collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and organisations within the Dutch space industry. 


If you are considering applying to the Honours programme, please note that attendance at all Honours sessions is mandatory, in addition to any compulsory Bachelor 2 workshops and classes. 


Programme costs

Students participating in the RSM Honours programme are responsible for purchasing their own two-way flight ticket to Oulu, Finland, with arrival scheduled for the afternoon or evening of Sunday, 4 April 2027. 


All other programme-related costs are covered by RSM, including accommodation, meals, local transportation, and the three two-day challenges in the Netherlands. 


Recognition

Students who successfully complete the RSM Honours Programme will receive: 

  • 15 extracurricular credits 
  • An Honours programme certificate 
  • A separate grade transcript 
  • A recommendation letter from the Dean
